Box details:

DM500HD clone
SIM210/DM500HD (at least that's what it says on it)

Have optiflash pro 2.0.0.9 (Reg)

All sorts of issues... The story so far:

1/ Owner of box has something happen, so being the most knowledgeable person about anything computer starts randomly pressing buttons.
2/ Calls me...

I get box and don't realise it's a clone and flash it with DreamUp 1.3.3.11 OpenPLi 4.0 (march 2015 something) - genuine (as I have a genuine)

Get 'No CA Found'

and here I am...

Used the original tool on the same image.

Booted no problem, however "No Tuner found" ... noted that the kernel mod is loaded but it reports timed out.


Downloaded OptiFlash Pro...

Played, possibly managed to flash the wrong loader... (originally thought it was a Ferrari as he had a Nemesis image and the only reference I could find to images for Nemesis were ferrari images)

Registered/Donated Optiflash Pro to get the advanced features as selecting 'orignal' always broke the interface...

Pulled it apart

Identified 'SIM210' and with the registered version worked out what was going wrong...

Used the no ca found option - using optiflash to flash in Sim210-84b

Tried various images and get a variety of errors...

Optiflash sometimes reports 'Wrong Architecture' (even though the image says: DM500HD/SIM2.10)

Get errors reading NAND on some (after the boot)

Sometimes boots past the kernel, sometimes not.. most endup in 'rebooting in 180 seconds' some just continually loop with things like 'cannot add ' <some ttf> ': operation not permitted' - which is a fatal so it loops back again...

Any pointers please?

Additional info:

When it panics with the 180 second reboot it's always:

Solved... finally found a Nemesis image that would boot and see the tuner...

(2.6-SVN-110r0)

Had to select that image for download, download it, hit 'write bootloader/update' then back again to 'write image' (to get out of download area)..

Hit 'Do job'
Power up.
Wait for 'enter IP on display' (which of course the 500HD doesn't have)
Power off
Hold front panel button and power up.
*keep it held*
enter the IP of the box (which I already knew)
*keep it held*
wait for flash until 'successful'
*release button*
power down
power up

*SUCCESS*
