Hi i've bought a dreambox from ebay with 'No CA Found' error with no information about original image that was on the box.

When i open the box i can see that the system board is manufactured with part number: VIC 2A 94V-01(0821) with No DM800 REV numbers.

SIM card is 'Dream SIM 2.01'

I've been trying for weeks and downloaded multiple images with different bootloaders... and it's driving me CrAzY. I cannot get either an IP address or web interface.

When I use a TELNET connection i get the results below:

And the NCF-SIM2-v2.5 tool says wrong boot response_
The serial cable is dedicated cable i use (with no adapters) and i am using the serial COM1 port from my PC

P.s: Must be you have Cable (Rs232) to fix your problem ...and don't flash any wrong image just Sim2 patched images

Hi Fairbird...

Thanks for the quick response.
I'm using an RS232 (null modem) cable but i'm getting the message:
I've also changed PC and cable and still the same result

DM800HD Detected !
Wrong Boot Response!


I've taken out the SIM card and cleaned the card and contacts and tried again... but getting the same message.

Have you seen this before?

Wrong Boot Response, means (you are select wrong loader)
Should be to select right Ld, So follow carefully then instruction in that link what i give you ..
-Choose LD1 for (sim2)
-Click to Settings
-Choose (Advanced2)
-Select Repair No Ca Found
-Sim2.01
-DM-sim2-ssl84b

sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
I get the same response from ALL of the images whenever to try to flash the DM800

Can i do this in 2 stages using Dreamup (eg. try to install a working Boot loader file) make sure that works and then try pushing an image onto the DM800?

If so... which bootloader files can i use (i know the optiflasher downloads SSL files... but they are numbered 1 - 24)

From Attach download your last bootloader ssl84b...

If does not successful then try this:
-Choose LD1 for (sim2)
-Click to Settings
-Choose (Advanced2)
-Select Reset Bios Factory Settings
-Click to do job
-turn power on to box and leave optiflasher to restart box ...
You will get no ca found again after restart now fix box by this instructions
-Choose LD1 for (sim2)
-Click to Settings
-Choose (Advanced2)
-Select Repair No Ca Found
-Sim2.01
-DM-sim2-ssl84b

I'm still getting various errors when trying to communicate with the DM800HD.

When i use the Universal Dreamup application.... it doesn't get past the error "Waiting for OK from box to begin upload' --> see attachment

When i use the Optiflasher... 2 things happen.
When i start the application i get a memory reference error (both versions 2.0.0.5 & 2.0.0.6) from 2 different machines --> see picture

But when i try to reset to factory defaults and 'Do Job' the box is not detected at all :o( it still waiting for DM800HD to be powered on --> another attachment

but then i change the setting to 'Fix no CA' the box is recognized immediately but 'Wrong boot response'

This is getting frustrating :o(

I appreciate Any help you can give me.

Is there a way to see if the Laptop / desktop can wright 'to' the dreambox

Did you try another pc or another win in same pc?

Hi Fairbird...

I ended up formatting XP machine and installing Windows 7 and now program working OK... BUT when i try Optiflasher to 'Reset to factory setting' the program asks me to Power ON Dreambox BUT no response from application when i plug in power.

So i 'Esc' to abort factory reset and goto 'repair no CA ' and same application session DOES see the dreambox and i get 'Wrong response' message again :o(

it seems that the SIM card is sending wrong response or not responding to bootup

Is there a FIX for sim v2.01 corrupted by the "BombKill" SSL released?
or any other method to help. I have a smartcard reader in my laptop but not sure how to speak to SIM card or reset/flash/backup

will i need to buy a new SIM card? and where would i find a replacement
