ca error (DM800 - genuine ) - zippygte - 10-14-2014
Hi,have recently inherited a DM800HD PVR with this fault.
As far as i can tell it's a genuine box A2P sim, right type and colour of screws etc.although internal 14pin connector seems to be in wrong place(top middle) see pics.
I have tried dreamup and patched version but doesn't recognise box and also tried it without tuner fitted so i presume i need optiflasher if gen. or NCF sim2 if clone.
firstly can someone confirm gen. or clone and if genuine which version of optiflasher should i donate to.
Many Thanks
John.
RE: ca error - fairbird - 10-15-2014
you box (genuine) as you said and you flash wrong patched image for Sim2...
So you must be to flash only original image for DM800 not patched images...
1-Try to flash new original image with Dramup1.3.3.11

Don't use dreamup and patched version ...
2-Or best way use optiflasher (but you need to make donation ti get pro key then you can select LD2 loader for genuine box...read here

P.s: Must be you have RS232 cable you cannot fix your box with Lan cable
RE: ca error - zippygte - 10-15-2014
Thanks,no problem with making a donation but what worries me is the box doesn't seem to be making a connection via rs232 port.I know for definite the null modem cable and pc port are ok so i must have a problem at the box socket.
RE: ca error - fairbird - 10-15-2014
If you have problem in box socket then it is really big problem you can not connect box with pc must be change box socket..

Hi,not quite sure why it worked but i fixed it.
I connected ethernet and null cable to the powered off box.
I then started the COM Port Stress Test software i downloaded and that displayed data going out from the pc but nothing coming back from the box.
With the software still running i powered on the box whilst holding the power button down and voila, the port tester software showed data going to and most importantly "from the box" and the ca error on the front display had changed to the correct serial port message complete with ip address.
Could have been coincidence but i did try it again without the software running and the fault returned.
Didn't need to use dreamup or any other software just a new image.
I then went online and updated the image in the usual way and it's been faultless since.
Well happy.
